Policies
The following policies are in place to protect your safety, comfort, and rights as a client, and to keep my practice in compliance with the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists (OBMT) and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) Chapter 334. Please read them before your first appointment. If you have any questions, I'm happy to talk through them with you.
Licensure
Jeanine Yutani is licensed by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists (License #29745). You can verify any Oregon LMT's license status at oregon.gov/obmt.
Scope of Practice
Massage therapists do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or perform high-velocity joint manipulation, and I will refer you to an appropriate healthcare provider when something falls outside what massage or movement therapy is intended to address.
Informed Consent
Before we begin any session, I'll explain what the treatment will involve, and your consent is required and voluntary at every step. You may ask questions, decline any technique, or ask me to stop or adjust pressure at any time during the session — no explanation needed. If you are not able to give informed consent (for example, due to age or a condition affecting decision-making capacity), a parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative must be present and consenting on your behalf.
Draping
You will be professionally and securely draped with a sheet or towel throughout your session, as required under OAR 334-010-0025(3). Only the area actively being worked on is uncovered, and it is re-draped immediately afterward. Your genitals and gluteal cleft will remain covered at all times. For clients assigned female at birth, the breast area also remains covered unless you give specific, voluntary, and informed consent for treatment of that area (see "Specialized Techniques" below) — and you may withdraw that consent at any time, for any reason. You are always welcome to undress only to your level of comfort; therapeutic work can typically be adapted to whatever you're wearing.
Scheduling
Sessions are scheduled by appointment only. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Cancellation Policy
Out of respect for the time and care involved for both practitioner and clients — and to ensure availability for others — cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations (with less than 24 hours' notice) or missed without notice will be charged the full session fee.
Late Arrivals
Late arrivals will receive the remaining time of their scheduled session to respect the schedule of following clients. Full session fees apply, as time cannot be extended.
Emergency Exceptions
We understand that true emergencies happen. Cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion for sudden emergencies.
Illness & Health Policy
If you have a contagious illness, fever, acute infection, or undiagnosed skin rash/condition, please reschedule your appointment. Massage or exercise can worsen certain conditions and puts the therapist and other clients at risk. To encourage a healthy environment, cancellation fees are waived if you must cancel due to a contagious illness - provided you notify us as soon as symptoms begin.
If your therapist becomes ill or is unable to work, we will notify you immediately and reschedule your appointment at your earliest convenience.
Right to Refuse or Stop Treatment
I reserve the right to decline to begin, modify, or stop any session if I believe a technique is contraindicated for your health, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, if you behave in a way that is disrespectful, unsafe, or inappropriate, or if continuing the session would violate these policies or Oregon law. In such cases, you may still be responsible for the session fee.

Professional Boundaries & Conduct
All massage therapy sessions at Yutani Movement are strictly therapeutic, non-sexual and professional. Any illicit, aggressive, or sexually suggestive remarks, advances, or behaviors will result in the immediate termination of the session. If a session is terminated due to inappropriate behavior, the client will be barred from returning, and full payment for the session will be required. Inappropriate conduct may be reported to the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists and/or law enforcement.
Sanitation & Health
My treatment space is cleaned and sanitized between every client, and linens are laundered after each use and never reused, consistent with OAR 334-020-0005. Hands are washed before and after every session. Please let me know in advance if you're experiencing any communicable illness (fever, flu symptoms, active cold sores, rash, contagious infection, etc.) — I will ask to reschedule your appointment to protect both of us, and this will not count against you under my cancellation policy.
Health Information & Privacy
Your intake forms, health history, session notes, and any information you share with me are kept confidential and stored securely, and are not shared with any third party without your written authorization, except where disclosure is required by law (for example, mandatory reporting of abuse, or a valid subpoena). I keep professional business records as required by Oregon massage therapy rules and retain them for at least the period required by law.
Will this fix my chronic health condition?
This work is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure chronic health conditions. It is supportive in nature and works best alongside care from your licensed medical and healthcare providers.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You're welcome to book directly. This work can be part of a broader care team, and many clients choose to coordinate with their healthcare providers.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing that allows you to stretch and move easily. Please avoid wearing jeans or jeans-like materials for movement or manual/massage therapy sessions.
What should I expect in my first session?
Whether it’s for movement or massage, your first visit begins with a conversation – about your body, your history, and what you’re hoping to feel more of. From there, sessions move gently into observing how your body organizes itself, testing what feels supportive, and identifying where to begin. There’s no pressure to perform, no expectation that you already know what you need – we figure that out together.
I'm not sure where to start...?
That's completely okay. A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment — we can talk through what you're navigating and find the right starting point together.
Refund Policy
All prepaid sessions, gift certificates, and service packages will be honored. Refunds for unused services are not routinely provided and may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the practitioner's discretion. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take several business days to process.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not accepted at Yutani Movement. Reviews and referrals are always the most appreciated way to support my practice.
Non-Discrimination Policy
This practice complies with applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Services are provided with respect for the dignity, rights, and individuality of all clients.
